What I Ate (On A Cleanse) Wednesday

Posted on Posted in What I Ate Wednesday

I am on day 3 of the Mama Recharged 7 Day cleanse. This is my favourite way to cleanse as you can still eat delicious food and you don’t really feel deprived.

Day 1 started out great. I really love the fresh juices and smoothies and just super nourishing foods. I feel like my body was really needing this extra care and was craving all the fresh fruits and vegetables. Some subtle detox symptoms started to set in later afternoon. Dull headache and a little tired. Day 2 is always the hardest. One of the cleansers compared it to “like pregnancy tired” and that’s exactly how I find it. I had a relaxing epsom salt bath, read a little, and got to bed early. I woke at 7:00 (I’m usually up before 6) and felt refreshed!

The recipes are all from the Mama Recharged 7 Day Detox. If you are feeling like your body is needing a break and reset, you can the join the group now and just start a little late or do it anytime on your own or with a friend. You will also have access to all our future group cleanses that run 2-3 times a year. You can get more info here. Either way I hope you find this post of interest and maybe get some new meal or snack ideas!

7:00 – WARM LEMON WATER/DETOX TEA CONCOCTION

7:30 – GLOWING GODDESS JUICE

I chose this one today mostly because of the name! It includes tons of chlorophyll and the cilantro is great at detoxifying heavy metals in the body. Nourishing right down to the cells! *note – there is a modified version of the cleanse for those who don’t have juicers.*

11:30 – DAIRY FREE CREAM OF CAULIFLOWER SOUP

Full of detoxifying vegetables and still comforting and filling.

2:30 DANDELION TEA, APPLE, DATES AND SWEET POTATO BITES

I really missed coffee the first couple days but I’m really starting to enjoy this dandelion tea with a splash of coconut milk. It has a taste somewhat similar to coffee and tastes so good with the coconut milk. Dandelion tea is a great liver detoxifier and after working with clients I’ve noticed an overburdened liver to be a common theme. It’s so important to give it a break from all the toxins that we take in on a daily basis. A well functioning liver has a positive effect on so many areas of our life (energy, better skin, hormone balance, to name a few).

6:00 – VEGGIE BITES WITH GUACAMOLE AND SPINACH SALAD WITH CREAMY CASHEW SAUCE.

The veggie nuggets are a little time consuming to make but are so good!

8:00 – Creamy Mint Shake and a Detox Bath

This shake is one of my favourites. It’s packed with fresh mint which helps the detoxification process. The mint also promotes good digestion and reduces inflammation. It also contains more greens from kale but it tastes like a milk shake.

Have a great week!
